Charles Bassey, the 6-foot-10 power forward from Aspire Academy (KY), has committed to Western Kentucky and will reclassify to 2018 from 2019, a source told ZAGSBLOG. He is already on campus and began workouts Wednesday.
“It’s a good school, a good atmosphere, and I have a great relationship with the coach,” Bassey told ZAGSBLOG Wednesday. “I’ve watched them a couple of times. They play from the inside-out, so the bigs get the ball a lot of the time.”

Ranked the No. 3 prospect in the Class of 2019 by ESPN.com, Bassey was being recruited by Kansas, UCLA, Cal, Wake Forest, and Western Kentucky, according to his guardian Hennssy Auriantal.

“I’m excited about me and my teammates getting along, getting to know them, and working on what we’re gonna accomplish as a team,” said Bassey.
Bassey spoke with ZAGSBLOG at the Pangos All-American Camp earlier this month about what he’s looking at in a school when deciding where to commit.
“Relationship with the coaches, good fans, and a good atmosphere,” said Bassey. “I want a good school with good education.”
