North Carolina’s Luke Maye withdraws from NBA Draft

By ADAM ZAGORIA

North Carolina junior forward Luke Maye announced Thursday via Instagram that he’s withdrawing from the NBA Draft and will return to campus.

The 6-foot-8, 240-pound Maye averaged 16.9 points and 10.1 rebounds last season. He was a first-team All-ACC selection last season and third-team All-American, and was also named the ACC’s Most Improved Player after increasing his scoring average by 11.4 points.

This is good news for the Tar Heels, who also return Kenny Williams, Cam JohnsonSterling Manley, Garrison Brooks, Brandon Robinson and Seventh Woods and bring in a three-man recruiting class highlighted by small forward Nassir Little, the projected No. 2 pick in the 2019 Draft per ESPN.com.

Maye had until May 30 to withdraw from the Draft.
