Gavitt Tip-Off Games feature Villanova-Michigan NCAA championship game rematch

The 2018 Gavitt Tipoff Games will run Nov. 13-16 and will feature a rematch of the NCAA championship between Villanova and Michigan.

Villanova won its second NCAA title in three years under head coach Jay Wright when it beat the Wolverines, 79-62, on April 2 in San Antonio.

Outside of the Gavitt Games, Villanova will also play Kansas, the team it beat in the national semifinals before facing Michigan. The Jayhawks and Wildcats will play Dec. 15 at Allen Fieldhouse.

The Gavitt Games is an annual series between the BIG EAST and Big Ten Conferences and named in honor of Dave Gavitt, founder of the BIG EAST and basketball visionary.  The series continues this season with games being played at home sites. The Gavitt Tipoff Games will annually be played in the first full week of the basketball season.
