Frankie Policelli, the 6-foot-8, 205-pound Class of 2018 small forward from Long Island Lutheran (NY), is off the board to Dayton.
Policelli also held offers from Texas Tech and Cincinnati, and took visits last fall to George Washington and Stony Brook. He chose Dayton after a recent official visit to the Atlantic 10 Conference school.
“I chose Dayton because I felt comfortable with the coaching staff and the players,” he told ZAGSBLOG. “I feel like I can fit in really good.”

The Flyers have been in contact since the beginning of his senior year, and Policelli will be a nice late addition for coach Anthony Grant’s club. Policelli joins 6-1 guard Dwayne Cohill in Dayton’s 2018 class.
He averaged 12 points and 6 rebounds, while shooting 40 percent from beyond the arc for a LuHi team that was runner-up in the Beach Ball Classic, won the SNY Invitational and reached the New York State Federation Class AA semifinals.
“Frankie is 6-9 and explosive,” LuHi coach John Buck said. “He shoots the ball extremely well, and is only scratching the surface of his potential. I truly believe he will take major strides in the coming years as a player. Best of all, Frankie is one of the most genuine and humble kids I have ever had the pleasure to coach.”
Said LuHi and NY Jayhawks coach Jay David: “He’s a highly versatile forward who can defend multiple positions and rebound with the best around. He is an extremely high-level shooter and has a high ceiling.”
