Miami lands Wyoming transfer Anthony Mack

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Anthony Mack, the 6-foot-6 wing who is transferring from Wyoming, verbally committed to Miami on his weekend visit, as first reported by 247Sports.com.

Mack also had interest from  Georgia, Virginia Tech, Georgetown, St. Bonaventure, Iona, Saint Louis, Boston College, VCU and Temple.

At Miami, Mack will be reunited with former Blair Academy (N.J.) teammate Deng Gak.

“I liked the culture and it’s a winning program,” Mack told ZAGSBLOG. “It felt like the right fit. And I like the coaches.”

Said Blair Academy coach Joe Mantegna: “Coach [Jim Larranaga] loved Ant when they recruited Deng but he didn’t need that position at the time. We all felt comfortable with Miami because they have treated Deng so well and didn’t hesitate when recruiting Ant as a transfer. I think it is a perfect fit.”

Mack dealt with concussion issues last year at Wyoming and will thus apply for a waiver and immediate eligibility.
