Alonzo Gaffney, the 6-foot-9 forward from Garfield Heights (OH), has committed to Ohio State, he announced on Twitter Tuesday morning.
A five-star recruit, Gaffney chose the Buckeyes over Michigan State and Georgetown.
Gaffney is the first commitment in the 2019 class for head coach Chris Holtmann and Ohio State.
According to 247Sports, Gaffney is the No. 18 prospect in the class and the No. 1 player from the state of Ohio.
