Villanova’s Jalen Brunson capped a magical year by winning the Naismith Award on Friday.
Brunson, who led Villanova to its second NCAA championship in three years on Monday night over Michigan, won all three major national player of the year awards for 2017-18, including the Wooden Award and AP National Player of the Year honors.

Brunson also won the Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award, while his teammate Mikal Bridges won the Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year Award.

Arizona’s Deandre Ayton won the Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year Award, Purdue’s Carsen Edwards won the Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year Award and Seton Hall’s Angel Delgado won the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Award.
Villanova coach Jay Wright, who became just the third active Division 1 men’s coach with more than one NCAA championship, won the Wooden Legends of Coaching Award.
