Chris Harris Jr., the 6-foot-4 shooting guard from South Garland (TX) High School, announced his commitment to Texas A&M on Tuesday via Twitter.
“I’m headed to Texas A&M and I picked them because it’s like family down there,” Harris told 247Sports on Tuesday. “They’ve treated me like family since the day they offered me. I love the community and I love the atmosphere down there.”
According to 247Sports, Harris is ranked as the No. 174 overall player in the Class of 2019 and the No. 13 player from the state of Texas. He joins Sahvir Weaver as the second commit in the Aggies 2019 class.
Harris picked Texas A&M over schools such as SMU, Baylor, Tulsa, UNLV, and Memphis, among others. Harris visited Texas A&M unofficially for their game on February 10.
“The atmosphere is crazy,” Harris said about the visit. “Their fan base is crazy. It’s big down there. It’s family-oriented down there, and their fans are a big part of their program.”
