Jalek Felton Withdraws from UNC

By JACOB POLACHECK

Freshman point guard Jalek Felton has withdrawn from the University of North Carolina, his lawyer Kerry Sutton tweeted on Thursday afternoon.

“Playing at UNC was a life-long dream come true. It’s time for a new dream,” said Felton.

Felton played in 22 games during the 2017-18 season, averaging 2.9 points and 1.6 assists. He is the nephew of former Tar Heel great Raymond Felton.

In January, Felton was forced to leave campus while UNC investigated him and allegations of his misconduct. He was indefinitely suspended by the University on January 30 and has been off campus since. The basketball program has distanced itself from the suspension since the outset, saying it was a University decision.
