Duke’s Marvin Bagley III Out With Mild Knee Sprain vs. Georgia Tech

By SEAN BOCK

Duke freshman phenom Marvin Bagley III will miss Sunday’s game at Georgia Tech due to a mild knee sprain he sustained in the first half in the loss to North Carolina on Feb. 8, the school announced.

Bagley managed to play 39 minutes and scored 15 points and 16 rebounds despite getting injured in the first half.

Bagley also missed some action earlier in the year when he was poked in the eye against Michigan State in the first half of the Champions Classic in November. Duke still won the game behind Grayson Allen’s 37 point performance.

According to the latest ESPN NBA Mock Draft, Bagley is projected to go No. 4 overall to the Orlando Magic.

Bagley is averaging 21.2 points and 11.4 rebounds per game while shooting 59.6 percent from the field and 35.4 percent from three. The No. 9 Blue DevilsĀ (19-5, 7-4) face the Yellow Jackets at 6 p.m. on ESPN.
