Villanova got Super Bowl Sunday in Philadelphia off to a good start.
The No. 1 Wildcats fended off Big East rival Seton Hall, 92-76, to improve to 22-1, 9-1 in the Big East.
All five Villanova starters reached double-figures, led by redshirt freshman Omari Spellman’s 26 points and 11 rebounds and Jalen Brunson’s 21 points and 6 assists. Villanova outscored Seton Hall 51-39 in the second half.
Mikal Bridges had 17 points and 4 rebounds, including this dunk which should make the SportsCenter Top 10 on Super Bowl Sunday.

Desi Rodriguez went for 20 points and 7 rebounds and Angel Delgado had 18-9 for Seton Hall (17-6, 6-4), which hasn’t won at Villanova since 1994. Myles Powell added 17 points.
The Pirates, who have high hopes for a deep March run, have now lost three of five and four of seven.
With Villanova’s win, the top three teams in the nation — Villanova, No. 2 Virginia and No. 3 Purdue — are now a combined 67-4. Those teams have just one combined projected first-round pick in Villanova’s Bridges.
All three teams are dominated by upperclassmen and continue to win even as Saturday saw six Top 25 teams fall. Duke, Kentucky and Kansas all lost to unranked teams on Saturday for the first time since 1969.
