Australian forward Sam Froling closing in on college decision

Sam Froling, the 6-foot-9 Class of 2018 power forward from the Australian Institute of Sports, recently toured several American colleges and is closing in on a college decision.

The younger brother of Marquette sophomore center Harry Froling, Sam visited Wichita State, Creighton, Maryland and Arizona. He broke down all four visits for 247Sports.com.

Wichita State: “It was pretty good. They are impressive, especially for a small school. Their coach, obviously knows what he’s doing. The guys were pretty cool and it was a nice place.”

Creighton: “I think the opportunity for me to play there is going to be pretty good. The coach was good as well. The guys there and Jacob Epperson is there and there’s a bit of familiarity there.”

Maryland: “Coach [Mark] Turgeon was pretty good. He’s been around for a pretty long time. He knows what he’s doing. The strength and conditioning program was exceptional and their fan base is pretty impressive.”

Arizona:Sean Miller is an exceptional coach. They’re a very respected program and looking at the guys they’ve had at my position in the past, like Lauri Markkanen, and them just being able to improve players from my position.”

Froling said he’s taking a few weeks to process his options.

“I think I’ll probably make my decision within the next week or two,” Froling told 247Sports. “I don’t have a set date yet. I’m still doing a bit more research and watching some footage.”
