Bryce Wills, the 6-foot-5 shooting guard from Iona (NY) Prep and the New York Rens, announced his commitment to Stanford on Wednesday via Twitter. He took an official visit to Stanford last month (Nov. 19)
“He’s an extremely versatile guard,” Rens coach Andy Borman told ZAGSBLOG Wednesday. “[He] can play all over the floor and impact the game from all three levels. He’s an extremely long defender.”
According to 247Sports, Wills is ranked as the No. 142 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 2 player from the state of New York. He joins Cormac Ryan and Keenan Fitzmorris as the third commit in Stanford’s 2018 class.
“He’s spent a bunch of time expanding his range and has added lean muscle to his frame,” said Borman. “He’ll be an immediate impact player for Stanford and in the Pac-12.”

Wills, who cut his list to four last month, chose Stanford over Villanova, UConn, and Wake Forest. In addition to his Stanford visit, Wills also took an official visit to Villanova (Dec. 9).

“He’s a great teammate,” said Borman. “Very coachable and comes from a great program at Iona Prep.”
“At 6-foot-6 in bare feet with an 8-foot wingspan, Bryce has the ability to play either guard position which makes him extremely valuable to any program,” Steve Alvarado of Iona Prep told ZAGSBLOG Wednesday. “He stuffs the stat sheet as evidenced by his triple-double on Wednesday, to go along with 5 blocks and you have a player who a program can build around. He is an emerging solid perimeter shooter who will only improve in a college development setting. If he becomes a good shooter, and it’s very possible, he has the tools to be an NBA player.”
