Villanova and Rutgers watched uncommitted Hudson Catholic point guard Jahvon Quinerly for a second straight game at the City of Palms Classic on Wednesday.
Villanova’s Ashley Howard and Rutgers’ Brandin Knight also watched Quinerly on Monday.
In Wednesday’s quarterfinals, Quinerly went for 28 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists but Hudson Catholic lost to McEachern High (GA), 83-81, in OT.
In October, Quinerly decommitted from Arizona in the wake of the FBI investigation where his family was linked to receiving payment from former Arizona assistant Book Richardson.
Since then, Quinerly has kept mum about his recruitment and he kept that approach up in Florida.
“I’m not going to speak on that,” he said, per Rivals.com.
Villanova, which needs a point guard to replace Jalen Brunson, has been linked to Quinerly. They are also involved with fellow Class of 2018 lead guards Bryce Wills and Courtney Ramey.
The Wildcats are also at the event for Class of 2019 stars Bryan Antoine and Scottie Lewis of the Ranney (N.J.) School.
Rutgers was involved for Quinerly early but did not make his final group of schools, which included Arizona, Villanova, Virginia, Stanford and Seton Hall.Photo:
