Michael Porter Jr., the Missouri freshman who is expected to be in the mix for the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft, will miss his third straight game Monday night against Emporia State with a mysterious leg injury.
“Mizzou Men’s Basketball freshman Michael Porter, Jr. will not be available for tonight’s game vs. Emporia State,” a team spokesperson told the Missourian. “His status remains unchanged from prior announcements.
After initially saying it was a “tweaked hip,” Missouri now says it’s a leg injury.
MU athletics said it was a “tweaked hip” after the Iowa State game. Cuonzo Martin said days later it was his leg.

Porter Jr. has played just 2 minutes through three games this season.
Along with Duke freshman forward Marvin Bagley III and Real Madrid wing Luka Doncic, Porter Jr. is expected to be in the mix for the No. 1 pick next June.
“What I’m about to go to at Mizzou is special,” Porter Jr. told me in April. “Those fans are hungry. I didn’t know how much love they were going to show me but it’s been ridiculous. Everywhere I go on campus they cheer my name. It was crazy. Games are going to be packed. I just feel like it’s going to be exciting.”
