Devon Dotson, the 6-foot-2 point guard from Providence Day (NC) School, will announce his college decision on Friday at 6pm at the Providence Day football game, he announced via Twitter. He is no longer considering Florida, per his father.
Dotson, who is down to Kansas and Maryland, had each school come in to visit on Wednesday. Kansas head coach Bill Self and assistant coach Norm Roberts visited Dotson on Wednesday. He took his official visit to Kansas on August 25, before taking his official visit to Maryland last month (Sept. 29). 2018 forward Silvio De Souza joined Dotson on his Kansas visit, before announcing his commitment to the Jayhawks just a few days later.
According to 247Sports, Dotson is ranked as the No. 24 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 2 player from the state of North Carolina. Before cutting his list to two, Dotson was also considering schools such as Florida, Miami, Ohio State, USC and Wake Forest.
Kansas currently has a two-man class with big men Silvio De Souza and David McCormack. Maryland also has a two-man class with power forward Jalen Smith and small forward Aaron Wiggins.
