Montverde Academy forward Filip Petrusev plans two more visits

Filip Petrusev, the 6-foot-11, 215-pound Serbian forward from Montverde (FL) Academy, is planning two more official visits.

Petrusev said he will “most likely” visit Gonzaga and Utah this coming weekend.

He has already taken official visits to Charlotte and Tennessee, and would then have one remaining. He’s also considering Arizona, Virginia and Maryland.

“I will try to do those visits by the end of the month and then decide and commit,” he said recently.

Kevin Boyle Jr., the Montverde postgrad coach, said Petrusev has a high basketball IQ.

“Filip has surprised most college coaches with his height and mass,” he said. “He’s more filled out than many European prospects that are known for their perimeter skill set and it allows him to compete on the block defensively as well as score inside against true bigs. He’s got great IQ and his best skill right now is his ability to knock down open or contested threes.”

Petrusev averaged 5.3 points and 3.4 rebounds on the Serbian team that won the European U18 championship in August.
