Brendan Adams to Rhode Island

Brendan Adams, the 6-foot-4 point guard from Hanover (MD) Calvert Hall College, committed to Rhode Island on Sunday evening.

“I think ultimately it just came down to how I felt when I was there on my visit,” Adams said. “It just felt right. They want me to come in and be a scorer and playmaker.”

Ranked the No. 36 point guard nationally by 247Sports.com, he also considered Georgia and Wyoming. Brendan is the younger brother of St. Bonaventure guard Jaylen Adams.

“Brendan is a gym rat who constantly works on his craft,” said Team Melo coach Keith Goodie. “You have to force him to take days off. Right now getting to spots for pull jump shots is his strength. He’s also a consistent three-point shooter who’s known for making big shots. He has potential to be a good defender once he gets stronger.”

Adams joins point guard Amir Harris, shooting guard Tyrese Martin, small forward Dana Tate and power forward Jermaine Harris in coach Dan Hurley’s 2018 class.
