Colin Castleton, the 6-foot-10, 215-pound power forward from Daytona Beach (FL) Father Catholic, committed to Michigan over Illinois on Wednesday.
“It was just the gut feeling you get and it felt right,” he said. “Being around the team and guys felt so good and they made me feel like I was one of them.”
Castleton was coming off a recent visit to Michigan.
“It was great,” he said. “They are just getting to know me very well and talking about how much I could make a difference. I could make an impact from Day One if I put the work in this year.”

Moe Wagner was his host on the visit.
“Meeting the players and coaches and getting to know them all was cool,” he said. “We went out to nice dinners and went bowling.”
Castleton cut Notre Dame, Florida, Florida State, Ohio State, Purdue and Baylor from his initial list of eight.
He is the fifth commit for Michigan in 2018 joining point guard David DeJulius, shooting guards Iggy Brazdeikis and Adrien Nunez and power forward Brandon Johns.
