First-year Ohio State coach Chris Holtmann continued his recent recruiting run Sunday when Justin Ahrens, the 6-foot-5 shooting guard small forward from Versailles (OH) High School, committed to the Buckeyes.
He also considered Michigan, Xavier, Dayton, Purdue, and Vanderbilt.
“I picked OSU cause I am determined to help this program get back to the top,” Ahrens told D1VISION on Sunday via text. “I want to be on the front end of this all. I also love the players and coaching staff. We get along really well. I love it there.”

A three-star wing, Ahrens became a can’t miss prospect this summer due to his exceptional three-point shooting ability he displayed playing with C2K Elite on the Under Armour Circuit.
According to 247Sports, Ahrens is the No. 44 small forward in the 2018 class and the No. 7 player in the state of Ohio.
He is Ohio State’s fourth commit in 2018, following point guard Duane Washington Jr., shooting guard Luther Muhammad and small forward Jaedon LeDee.
