NEW YORK — Khalid Moore, the 6-foot-8, 190-pound Class of 2018 wing from Archbishop Molloy High School and the NY Rens, has two official visits planned at the moment.
Moore will trip to Seton Hall (Sept. 28-30) and Georgia Tech (Oct. 22-24).
“I’m setting up an official visit later this month with Seton Hall, and then next month I’m supposed to be going to Georgia Tech,” Moore said Wednesday during an open gym.
As for Georgia Tech, head coach Josh Pastner has made inroads in New York City, landing former Christ the King point guard Jose Alvarado.
“I think they have a good style of play, something I could fit into,” Moore said. “One of them players I’m familiar with, Jose, I spoke to him a little bit.”
With Seton Hall, they be losing a lot of core seniors and are looking for players who can come in and contribute immediately.
“It’s something that I could just step into and get used to playing with them,” he said.

“I think they have a really good style of play, just pushing the ball to score and I think it’s something I could fit into,” he added.
Moore also has offers from Pittsburgh, Oklahoma State, UMass, Miami, Syracuse, Virginia, St. John’s, Rutgers, Rhode Island and VCU. Miami head coach Jim Larranaga was at the open gym Wednesday.
But for now, Moore is focusing on Georgia Tech and Seton Hall.
“Those tow are the only final right now, I still have a lot to think about,” he said. “I never really finalized anything else.”
He remains unsure if he will commit in the fall or spring.
“I’m unsure, I just have to wait to see how things go,” he said.
As for his upside, Moore could be a prototypical high-major wing player.
“Hopefully, I’ll be more consistent shooting the ball and just get a little bigger and stronger,” he said. “I think I can be an all-around player who plays offense and defense and attacks the basket.”
Moore plays alongside 7-foot-2 1/2 senior big man Moses Brown, who’s being recruited by Louisville, Maryland, Kansas and St. John’s, and 6-3 junior point guard Cole Anthony, who’s being courted by Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Oregon, Miami, UCLA, Indiana and others.
“I think we could be really good,” he said of the Stanners. “We have a lot of pieces, not only me, Cole and Moses but other pieces who can help a lot.”
