John Calipari shoots down Knicks report (UPDATED)

Kentucky coach John Calipari shot down an ESPN.com report that his camp reached out to the Knicks about running their organization.

Calipari is in Cairo coaching the USA U19 team, which beat France, 82-60, Thursday in an exhibition in which Kentucky’s Hamidou Diallo went for 15 points.

Calipari generally denies his interest in NBA openings on Twitter.

In 2015, he denied interest in reuniting with star center Anthony Davis and former guard Tyreke Evans as head coach of the New Orleans Pelicans.

Calipari recently signed an extension at Kentucky that takes him through the 2023-24 season and pays him $8 million annually.

Recently fired Knicks President Phil Jackson reportedly made $12 million annually for five years, and the Knicks still owe him $24 million.

Meantime, former Knicks President and coach Isiah Thomas denied his interest in returning to the Knicks.
