2017 Guard Mark Smith Still Weighing Options

Mark Smith is still weighing his options following a visit to Illinois on Thursday, his father told ZAGSBLOG.

The 6-foot-5 guard will visit Ohio State this weekend and then potentially visit Kentucky and/or Duke before deciding, Anthony Smith said. He’s also considering Michigan State.

“Decision some time after OSU visit this weekend,” Anthony said by text.

Smith had a home visit with Duke this past week but has yet to meet head coach Mike Krzyzewski in person and pick up an offer.

“[They said] he’s a true 6-foot-5 point guard with great shooting guard abilities,” said his father. “He has three-man abilities to finish at the rack and can handle like the small point guards.”

The 6-foot-5 Smith, out of Edwardsville (IL), is ranked the No. 17 point guard in the Class of 2017 by 247Sports.com. He averaged 21.9 points, 8.2 rebounds and 8.4 assists last season.
