Kansas, Villanova, North Carolina, Gonzaga Latest Projected No. 1 Seeds Per Lunardi

Kansas, Villanova, North Carolina and Gonzaga remain the projected No. 1 seeds for the NCAA Tournament, according to ESPN’s Joe Lunardi.

Kansas was installed as the new No. 1 team in the AP Poll on Monday, followed by Villanova, UCLA and Gonzaga, with the Tar Heels at No. 5.

Lunardi has Kentucky, Louisville, Baylor and Oregon as the 2 seeds.

The 3s are Arizona, Florida, UCLA and Florida State, with the 4s slated as Duke, West Virginia, Butler and Purdue.

The ACC is projected to have nine teams in the Big Dance (down from 10), followed by the Big Ten and Big East at seven apiece. The SEC, Pac-12 and Big 12 all have five apiece.

In terms of New York/New Jersey area teams, Seton Hall is an 11 seed and among the “Last Four In,” along with Big East rivals Providence and Marquette, as well as Vanderbilt; Monmouth is a 13 and Princeton a 13.

Lunardi has Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Rhode Island and Georgia as his “First Four Out.”
