Finally, the mystery surrounding Arizona star guard Allonzo Trier’s suspension has been revealed.
Trier failed a test for performance-enhancing drugs back in the preseason, leading to him being forced to sit out all of No. 14 Arizona’s (16-2) games thus far.
Trier has been cleared by the NCAA but cannot play until the drug is completely flushed out of his system. While the PED level has decreased, it’s anyone’s guess as to when (or even if) the sophomore will return to action.
As a freshman last year, the 6-foot-5 Trier averaged 14.8 points per game en route to being selected to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team.
He is currently projected as a late second-round selection (57th overall) in the 2017 NBA Draft, per DraftExpress.
