Nebraska Lands Georgetown Transfer Isaac Copeland

Nebraska has landed former Georgetown junior forward Isaac Copeland.

Kenya Hunter, the former Georgetown assistant who recruited Copeland to the Hoyas, is now a Nebraska assistant.

“Nebraska has everything I need,” he told ESPN. “A great plan for my recovery after surgery and environment I feel like I can get better in. There’s a lot of familiar faces there for me and I think I will fit in well.”

Copeland has already filed a medical hardship waiver and he hopes to be eligible at the start of next season after back surgery, ESPN reported.

Copeland appeared in seven games this season, averaging 5.4 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.

In 73 career games, he averaged 8.6 points and 4.5 rebounds.

He initially chose Georgetown over Boston College, Cincinnati, Florida State, Memphis, Miami, N.C. State, St. Joseph’s, West Virginia and many others in 2013.
