Michigan State’s Miles Bridges Out At Least 2 Weeks With Ankle Injury

Add Michigan State stud freshman Miles Bridges to the list of star freshmen on the injured list.

Spartans coach Tom Izzo said Thursday that Bridges will miss “a couple weeks” because of an ankle injury.

Duke is currently playing without projected lottery picks Harry Giles, Jayson Tatum and Marques Bolden — all freshmen.

Michigan State remains without injured bigs Ben Carter and Gavin Schilling.

“We’re just gonna take those injuries one at a time,” Izzo said Thursday. “I mean, I don’t know when anybody will be back right now. I’m definitely not worried about Miles’ as much as I am the other two as far as length of time. But two or three (weeks) right now is a lot of time because you want to get better at this time. So we’ll see if (Bridges) is a quick healer or if he’s not a quick healer.”

The 6-foot-7 Bridges is averaging 16.6 points, 8.8 boards and 32.5 minutes in eight games. He also has 12 blocks and 16 assists.

He is projected as the No. 14 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by DraftExpress.com.
