He joins point guard Shai Alexander and shooting guard DeAundre Ballard as the third commit in coach Mike White’s 2017 class.
Ranked the No. 52 power forward by 247Sports.com, he took his official visit to Florida last month (Sept. 16) and had plans to visit both Tennessee and West Virginia in October. Johnson held offers from schools such as Arizona, Virginia, Butler, Georgia, among others.
“Chase is a tough blue-collar guy with a tremendous work ethic,” Huntington Prep coach Arkell Bruce said. “He’s a great athlete with rapidly developing wing abilities and a matchup nightmare.”
