Tobias Harris to Transfer?

Tobias Harris, one of the top area players in the Class of 2010, is considering transferring from Dix Hills (N.Y) Half Hollow Hills West.

“South Kent (Conn.) and Long Island Lutheran are trying to recruit Tobias to play for them,” Torrel Harris, Tobias’ father, said in a text message.

The 6-8 Harris is the No. 21 power forward in the Class of 2010 and has numerous scholarship offers. Rutgers has made him a prime target for the Class of 2010.

A year ago, he scored 52 points in one game and scored his 1,000th career point as a sophomore.

If he goes to South Kent, he would join Kevin Parrom and Omari Lawrence, formerly of St. Raymond’s in the Bronx, and Devon McMillan, formerly of Lincoln.

If he elects to play at Long Island Lutheran, he would team with Achraf Yacoubou, a 6-foot-4 guard who played alongside Tyreke Evans and Lamont “Momo” Jones at American Christian (Pa.).

The latest schools to express interest in Harris are: Auburn, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Georgia, Georgetown, Michigan, Cincinnati, Texas A&M and Penn State.
