Calhoun Pondering Retirement

DETROIT — Jim Calhoun isn’t anywhere near making up his mind about his future, but he could potentially retire if he leads UConn to its third NCAA championship since 1999.

“I could walk away financially,” the 66-year-old Calhoun told a small group of reporters Thursday at Ford Field. “It’s not the case of that being the reason I would stay.”

Calhoun insisted he’s focused on Saturday’s national semifinal against Michigan State and nothing beyond the tournament.
