Samuel Japhet-Mathias has committed to Wake Forest.
Ranked No. 90 in the class of 2017, Japhet Mathias will enroll for the Demon Deacons a year early, reclassifying to the class of 2016. He is currently living in London.
“I am very excited to announce that I am committing to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons for the class of 2016,” Japhet Mathias said in a statement. “I decided to choose Wake Forest because I trusted myself with my decision and the coaching staff that I will progress there.”
Japhet Mathias was a member of the 2015 Vermont Academy AA Finalist team.
The 6-foot-10, 280 pound center is the fourth commit for head coach Danny Manning, joining Brandon Childress, Donovan Mitchell and Richard Washington.
Pat Lawless was the first to have the news.
