Xavier Sneed to Kansas State; Sam Williams to Nevada

XAVIER-SNEED-150420-PROBy JACK LeGWIN  & ADAM ZAGORIA

Xavier Sneed has committed to Kansas State.

Ranked No. 140 in the class of 2016 by 247 Sports, the 6-foot-5 Sneed chose the Wildcats over Illinois and Xavier.

Sneed is the first commitment for the Wildcats in the Class of 2016.

He will pair up on the wing with Barry Brown, and should see playing time right away. The valuable part of Sneed’s game is his ability to guard four different positions, and he is an immediate upgrade at the small forward position.

According to D1 Circuit, Sneed averaged 8.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals at Peach Jam for the St. Louis Eagles.

SAM WILLIAMS TO NEVADA

????????????????????????????????????

Sam Williams, a 6-foot-8, 208-pound forward from Mount San Jacinto College (CA), committed to Nevada.

Williams, who averaged 25.9 points and 6.9 rebounds while shooting 54 percent last season, also had interest from DePaul, Oregon, Gonzaga and Washington State.

Williams was named the PCAC North Player of the Year and helped guide the Eagles to their second straight conference title. He scored in double figures in 28 of MSJC’s 29 games this season and scored over 30 points nine times. Williams recorded his career-high on Jan. 9 against Palomar when he had 45 points.

“Nevada was the best choice for me,” he told SNY.tv. “I felt Coach Muss [Eric Musselman] and his staff have a lot of NBA experience.

“I plan to bring a lot of energy and love for the game. It’s really an honor to be able to play for Nevada.”
