Mario Kegler Likely to Visit Mississippi State

4_3721433Mario Kegler, a 6-foot-7 small forward who recently announced his transfer to Oak Hill Academy (Va.), will likely visit Mississippi State on top of his four other officials.

Kegler will visit Arizona State (Sept. 18-20), Penn State (Sept. 25-27), Maryland (Oct. 15-17) and Indiana (Oct. 23-25), Omhar Carter, Kegler’s guardian and AAU coach, recently told SNY.tv.

He is also considering UConn, Mississippi State, LSU and Baylor but a fifth official has not been chosen.

“I think he’ll visit Mississippi State,” Oak Hill coach Steve Smith said on The 4 Quarters Podcast. “I don’t know if he’ll make others. He expects to sign early, too.”

As for Kegler’s upside, Smith said: “Big strong kid, almost 6-7. Working with him on his body. He’s about 235, he needs to be 220-225. He’s more of a wing guard.

“Great shooter, 3- point range, good off the bounce. Very good in the pick and roll. Gets to the basket ball well. Can rebound his position and he’s a high, high level player.”
