Giles, Tatum 1-2 in 2017 NBA Mock Draft

GilesHarry Giles, the No. 1-rated player in the Class of 2016, and his best friend Jayson Tatum are projected as the No. 1 and 2 picks in the 2017 NBA Draft by DraftExpress.com, the top mock draft site in the industry.

Tatum has committed to Duke and Giles could end up following his friend there, meaning the Blue Devils could have the top two picks in the 2017 draft.

Giles has a final five list of schools and has official visits planned to all five, with Duke set for last.

Uncommitted point guard Dennis Smith Jr. is projected at No. 3, followed by uncommitted small forward Josh Jackson at No. 4 and uncommitted combo guard Markelle Fultz at No. 5. 

Rounding out the Top 10 are uncommitted point guard De’Aaron Fox at No. 6, uncommitted shooting guard Malik Monk at No. 7, 7-foot UNLV freshman Stephen Zimmerman at No. 8, uncommitted power forward Bam Adebayo at No. 9 and Latvian small forward Rodions Kurucs at No. 10.

Also of note, New York City guard Rawle Alkins is listed at No. 14; Indiana commit Thomas Bryant is No. 18;  uncommitted power forward Thon Maker is No. 26; and incoming Duke point guard Derrick Thornton is No. 30.

Kentucky point guard Tyler Ulis is listed at No. 38, while Vanderbilt guard Wade Baldwin of New Jersey is No. 39.
