Finnish Forward Lauri Markkanen Sets Visits

LauriFinnish power forward Lauri Markkanen has set three visits, Helinski Academy coach Hanno Möttölä confirmed to SNY.tv.

Scout.com first reported that Markkanen will visit Utah Oct. 11th, North Carolina Oct. 13-14 and Arizona Oct. 16-17, although a source said that the date of the Arizona visit could change.

Former Arizona commit T.J. Leaf, also a power forward, recently decommitted from the school.

Markkanen averaged 18.2 points and 6.3 rebounds at the recent FIBA U18 World Championships.

“Big, skilled power forward on the NCAA track,” writes DraftExpress.com. “Picking between Arizona, Utah and North Carolina. Had an outstanding tournament, helping a very weak team avoid relegation, while averaging 25 points per-40 minutes on an outrageous 65% TS%. Can do a little bit of everything offensively. Ideal stretch 4 man. Shows some potential defensively as well. Could stand to get a little tougher, meaner and more aggressive as he continues to mature.”
