Calhoun at UConn Practice Today; Fisher Key off the Bench for 'Nova

I just got off the phone with UConn men’s basketball contact Kyle Muncy and he said UConn coach Jim Calhoun was currently at practice with the team “locally” in Philadelphia and that he expected the coach to attend the press conference this afternoon at the Wachovia Center.

“The team is practicing right now and coach is at practice and I would certainly anticipate that he’ll be with the team when they get to the arena,” Muncy said.

The school has not specified what the illness was that forced Calhoun to spend Thursday night in the hospital and miss the team’s first-round game with Chattanooga.

Muncy denied reports that it was related to dehydration or stress.

“None of those things,” he said. “Nothing that I’ve read has any basis in fact.”

  • Hope Calhoun’s alright, never like to see something like that.

Really liked the piece on Fish, Zags. He’s an incredibly talented player and he’s clearly worked hard. Hope he continues to improve and get time with ‘Nova, because he’s fun to watch.
