Eubanks is ranked the No. 15 shooting guard in the Class of 2016 by 247Sports.com.
“I have waited a long time to make this decision,” Eubanks told Scout.com. “First off I want to thank God, my family and my coaches at Elev-8 for helping me. I’ll be attending the University of Alabama.”
“It’s a great school with great academics,” Eubanks told Scout. “The program is on the rise. It’s in a conference that I like. I was sold on the vision and passion of coach Avery [Johnson]. I’m excited to go there and be a leader and be a part of the organization. I’m exciting to be apart of coach Avery’s first recruiting class.”
Eubanks’ commitment brings to close a long and winding recruitment that saw him initially commit to Baylor, then reopen in November 2014 and consider a number of schools, including Kansas, West Virginia and Oregon.
He figures to be an impact scorer for the Crimson Tide.
“I’ll be playing the 2 guard and a little bit of the 3,” he said.
“Kobie Eubanks’ game continued to grow while at Elev8,” head coach Chad Myers told SNY.tv. “Once known as a shooter, he has become a more complete player being able to get to the basket and expanding his mid-range game. This will make him a threat immediately at the next level.”
Meantime, Nick Eubanks, Kobie’s brother, a 6-5 2016 tight end/wide receiver, will reportedly visit Alabama and their powerhouse football program.
