Wendell Carter Jr. Adds Kentucky Offer, Makes USA U16 Team

4_2971152Wendell Carter Jr. had a big day for himself on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-10 2017 power forward from Atlanta (GA) Pace Academy made the USA U16 National Team and picked up an offer from Kentucky.

Carter Jr. also made the U16 team that will compete in the FIBA Americas U16 Championship this month in Argentina

Carter recently added offers from Kansas, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest as well, while Duke is interested.

“I’ve called them,” he said. “I’ve talked to [assistant coach Jeff] Capel before, and my coach texts Capel. He told them that they offered me, but I don’t know if it’s official or not.”

According to Andrew Slater of 247Sports, the offer is not official, as head coach Mike Krzyzewski is the only coach who’s able to hand out offers. Photo: 247Sports.com
