Indiana transfer Stan Robinson is headed to Rhode Island, choosing them over VCU.

“I felt a strong family connection with the coaches and players,” he told SNY.tv. “I could envision myself playing for Coach [Dan] Hurley and his staff.”

The 6-foot-4 left-handed guard averaged 3.0 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists.

“I think my aggressive defense and the freedom Coach Hurley will let me play with will help my confidence in my shooting,” he said. “I will bring a great transition skill set to the team and also getting to the rim .”

He must sit a year per NCAA transfer regulations.

Robinson initially chose the Hoosiers over Maryland, Texas and Villanova.
