Kassoum Yakwe’s Stock Exploding

ead16Q4n_reasonably_smallKassoum Yakwe’s stock is exploding.

The 6-foot-7, 205-pound forward from the PSA Cardinals has played well at the Nike EYBL stop in Lexington and now has more than 15 high-major programs “very involved,” a source told SNY.tv.

Missouri and Florida State are the latest schools that want to get involved, the source said, with Kansas, Iowa State, St. John’s, Washington, Villanova and UConn working “very hard on him.”

The source said Yakwe will also remain in the Class of 2016 and won’t reclass.

Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress.com was at the Our Savior New American-Linden game in February and came away impressed by Yakwe’s athleticism.

“He’s a freak athlete,” Givony said. “He guards, he rebounds, he blocks shots. He has an amazing body with a long wingspan. There are not many guys in college with those physical attributes. If he develops a reliable corner 3, he is going to be an NBA player.”
