Buffalo Transfer Shannon Evans to Visit Arizona State, Miami

vwlpqg5gbx8eq6m5Shannon Evans, a 6-foot-1 sophomore guard and second-team All-MAC selection, will visit Arizona State this weekend and then possibly Miami after getting his release from Buffalo.

Evans holds offers from Arizona State, Miami and Boston College, with interest from St. John’s, Old Dominion, UNC-Wilmington and UNC-Charlotte.

“I have a visit with Arizona State this weekend [Friday],” Evans, who remains close with new Arizona State and former Buffalo coach Bobby Hurley, told SNY.tv by phone on Tuesday. “I’m considering [Arizona State] a lot, that’s my guy. He’s like my best friend, a father figure in my life.”

Evans said he doesn’t think he will commit on the visit and will “weigh all my options, maybe take a few more visits.”

Coming from Buffalo, he’d like to see Miami, too.

“I’m in Buffalo, I definitely want to visit Miami because of the weather,” he said. “I think Miami’s on my list as well.”

Evans averaged 15.4 points, 4.6 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.7 steals and shot 41 percent from the field last season as Buffalo made the NCAA Tournament under Hurley.
