Kansas assistant Norm Roberts watched uncommitted 2015 forward Cheick Diallo of Our Savior New American on Thursday night.
The visit came four days after Kentucky head man John Calipari watched the 6-foot-9 Diallo go for 16 points and 9 rebounds in a loss to Kentucky-bound point Isaiah Briscoe and Roselle (N.J.) Catholic Sunday in New York.
Diallo is down to Kentucky, Kansas, Iowa State, St. John’s and Pittsburgh and will commit in the spring.
“Don’t sleep on Kentucky. Kentucky is calling Cheick every day,” a source close to him previously told SNY.tv. “Kansas is calling Cheick every day. Iowa State is working hard for Cheick. It’s going to be very hard for Cheick.”
The source said Diallo is waiting to see which front court players leave and which stay from Kentucky. Karl-Anthony Towns, Willie Cauley-Stein and Trey Lyles are all projected first-round picks by DraftExpress.com, while Dakari Johnson is a borderline first-round pick.
The source said Diallo has videos of all five schools from Synergy Sports to see where he might fit in.
“We give it to the kid and he figures it out,” the source said. “Whatever the kid picks, that’s what he’s gonna do.”
