Illinois Guard Aaron Cosby to Transfer

CosbyAaron Cosby is on the move again.

After transferring to Illinois from Seton Hall, the Lexington, Ky., native will transfer again.

“After having further discussions with Aaron and evaluating the situation from both sides, he and I have mutually agreed that it is best to part ways,” Illinois coach John Groce said in a statement. “I enjoyed coaching Aaron and appreciate the contributions he made during his time here. I wish him success and will be rooting for him to have a great finish to his career.”

Cosby, who was serving an indefinite suspension for an unspecified violation of team rules, played in 19 games this season, starting 13, and averaged 7.8 points. The Chicago Sun-Times reported he plans to graduate before transferring, making him an attractive free agent.

Cosby spent two years at Seton Hall before transferring and sitting out the 2013-14 season as a redshirt.
