Recruiting Roundup: Eli Cain, Bruce Brown, Ted Kapita

CainSince decommitting from Delaware last month, St. Benedict’s Prep 2015 guard Eli Cain has been getting recruited by some high-major programs.

“I’ve been hearing from Cincinnati, Providence, Siena and Pitt,” Cain told SNY.tv.

A Willingboro, N.J., native Cain committed to Delaware in September but didn’t sign an NLI.

UCONN, BOSTON COLLEGE WATCH BROWN

Bruce Brown“Bruce Brown’s leadership is a big reason for our 4-0 start,” head coach Alex Popp said. “His vision as a lead guard has improved significantly since last year and he defends and rebounds at the highest level. He is averaging 20.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.2 assists and he has done this while allowing the game to come to him.”

Arizona, UCLA and Michigan have also shown interest.

KAPITA VISITING MIZZOU

Ted Kapita, a 6-8 power forward from Huntington (W.V.) Prep, takes an official visit to Missouri on Sunday, his coach confirmed.

Kapita is also considering Pittsburgh, Oregon and Arkansas, and has already visited Memphis and Arkansas.

Huntington coach Arkell Bruce called him “an athletic powerful” forward who compares to Kenneth Faried.

“He’s a big-time rebounder with stretch four abilities,” Bruce said.

Missouri is also recruiting his Huntington Prep teammate Thomas Bryant, who is considering Indiana, Syracuse and Kentucky as well.
