7-Footer Josh Sharma to Stanford

Josh Sharma, a 7-foot, 220-pound power forward from Northfield (MA) Mount Hermon, pulled the trigger for Stanford on Wednesday, choosing The Cardinal over Wisconsin and Boston College.

“I was looking for a school with great academics and high-level basketball, but also a place that would help me get to the next level,” Sharma told SNY.tv. “I think Stanford offers all of that and more.”

Sharma is the No. 24-ranked power forward in the Class of 2015 according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

“Josh Sharma is a unique student-athlete in that he is 7 feet tall, runs like a deer, jumps through the roof, scored really high on his ACTs, is taking three APs at an outstanding school and is a terrific kid,” NMH coach John Carroll said. “Stanford is a unique college that matches Josh in every way.”

Sharma joins small forwards Marcus Sheffield and Cameron Walker in Johnny Dawkins’ 2015 class.

NMH now has 2015 players committed to Stanford, Northwestern, Brown and two to Penn, with two left in the 2015 class.
