Briscoe Enjoys UConn, Kentucky, ‘Has a Lot to Think About’

Briscoe Peach Jam actionIsaiah Briscoe enjoyed his back-to-back visits to UConn and Kentucky and now has two more visits planned in the coming weeks.

“He liked both visits, thinks he could be successful at both places, was very, very impressed with Kentucky and the machine that it is and the intimacy of UConn appeals to him,” Jimmy Salmon of the Playaz Basketball Club told SNY.tv Tuesday.

“He’s got a lot to think about.”

The 6-foot-3 Briscoe visited UConn first, and although the Huskies already have a point guard commit in Jalen Adams, Briscoe feels they could play together and be successful.

“They had Shabazz [Napier] and [Ryan] Boatright, they could have me and Jalen,” Briscoe said before the visit.

As for Kentucky, head coach John Calipari impressed Briscoe during their recent home visit and again on the trip to the school, and Calipari offered Briscoe a scholarship.

“I might not be the man [at Kentucky], but I will shine,” he said before the trip, “and the spotlight don’t gotta be all on me and I don’t need all the pressure on me. At the end of the day if we win, everybody’s going to reach their ultimate goal, which is to go to the NBA. So if I go to Kentucky with four other McDonald’s All-Americans, we all have egos but if we win, everybody has NBA, everybody is happy.”

Briscoe is slated to visit Missouri Oct. 10 and St. John’s Oct 17. He has said he plans to sign in the spring.
