Buffalo coach Bobby Hurley landed a pledge Wednesday night from Nick Perkins, a 6-foot-8, 240-pound power forward from Milan (MI).
Perkins also considered Akron, St. Bonaventure, Cleveland State, Toledo, Kent State and Northern Illinois, among others. He was at Akron last weekend for an official.
Perkins said he chose Buffalo because of “The great coaching staff and the opportunity to be an impact player as a freshman.”
Michigan United coach Andre Gardette compared him to Memphis Grizzlies big man Zach Randolph.
“Nick is a 6-8, 240-pound power forward with the ability to pick and pop,” Gardette said. “He is also a force in the post. His face-up game is his strong suit though. He is a lefty whose game resembles Z-Bo.”
A week ago, Buffalo landed a commitment from Nate Navigato, a 6-foot-8, 210-pound shooter from Geneva (IL) High and the Mercury Elite AAU program.
