Shaq Doorson to Rutgers

Shaq is headed to Rutgers.

No, not that Shaq.

Shaquille Doorson, a 6-foot-11, 265-pound center from Holland and the Canarias Basketball Academy, committed to Rutgers, sources confirmed to SNY.tv. Jon Rothstein of CBSSports.com previously reported the news.

Doorson previously committed to Pittsburgh in November. But the two sides parted ways in January, sources said.

“He’s 6-foot 11, 265 pounds, he’s a big human being,” CBA coach Rob Orellana told SNY.tv then. “He’s only been playing for two and a half years. He’s an unbelievable runner North and South. He has great hands. He’s a hard-worker. He just doesn’t know the game right now, he doesn’t understand the physicality of the game right now. He doesn’t understand the concepts right now. It’s going to take time.

“He has an unbelievably huge body. For a kid his age, he’s chiseled.”
