Niagara Transfer Antoine Mason Has a Ton of Interest

Antoine Mason averaged 25.6 points last season at Niagara, so it’s no surprise he has a long list of suitors now that he’s transferring.

The 6-foot-3 Mason, the son of former Knick forward Anthony Mason, told a Buffalo news station he has been contacted by Cincinnati, Oklahoma State, Seton Hall, St. John’s, Providence, Auburn, Wake Forest, Maryland, Missouri, Texas A&M, Memphis, LSU, Fordham, Tennessee, Oregon, Virginia Tech, Nevada, Boston College, and UCLA.

One source with direct knowledge told SNY.tv that Seton Hall is not recruiting Mason.

“I wanted to see what my role was going to be next year,” Mason, who scored 1,934 points at Niagara, told the station. “And it kind of seemed like it was less for next year than this year. They wanted me to score less and have less minutes. And for my last year, I actually wanted to be better than I was last year so I can get that exposure and try to advance to the next level.”
