Chane Behanan Has Marijuana Charge Dismissed

NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament-Michigan vs LouisvilleChane Behanan, the former Louisville forward, had his marijuana citation in Louisville dismissed on Tuesday and won’t have the incident on his record.

The news was reported by the Louisville Courier-Journal and confirmed by Behanan’s agent, Mike Naiditch.

“It was a humbling experience,” Behanan told the Courier-Journal.

The 6-foot-6 Behanan is due to work out Thursday for the Minnesota Timberwolves and on Saturday for the Philadelphia 76ers. He is also slated to work out for the Houston Rockets June 11 and the Dallas Mavericks June 12.

He is not projected by the major draft sites to be drafted. SNY.tv first reported last month that Behanan would turn pro instead of transferring to Colorado State and waiting to play.

“At this stage of the evaluation process, NBA teams have one less reason to cross Chane off their lists,” Naiditch told SNY.tv. “This development should lead to additional workouts. The rest is up to Chane.”

Behanan completed a stint with John Lucas at his rehabilitation and training program in Houston and is now training in Chicago.

“I’m anxious to play,” he told the Courier-Journal. “I felt like the last two years I missed out on the draft. I feel like I missed my opportunity after we won the (2013) national championship at Louisville. I thought that was my chance to go. I wasn’t going to miss another one.”
